My Story
How This Moment Matters Came to Be
I'm Christie, a Registered Nurse in California since 2007, and my calling has always been to help people move through end-of-life transitions with clarity, dignity, and peace. I began my career in the heart unit, but it was hospice — starting in 2008 — where I found my purpose. Supporting patients one-on-one as an RN Case Manager, then later guiding teams as a clinical leader, taught me how profoundly meaningful these final chapters can be when families feel supported, informed, and empowered.
My own grandmother's passing deepened that understanding. I arrived by plane just hours before she died, surrounded by family and music. That moment — quiet, sacred, and full of love — reminded me that every person deserves a death shaped by their values, their voice, and their legacy. It also clarified my passion: helping others understand their options and create the kind of experience they want for themselves or their loved one.
This Moment Matters Consulting is the expression of that purpose. I created it as a sanctuary for individuals and families navigating end-of-life transitions — offering emotional steadiness, spiritual presence without dogma, and clinical clarity grounded in nearly two decades of nursing experience. Through The Moment Matters Journey, a flexible and adaptive program, I meet each client exactly where they are.
